From Palestine: The Reality, by J.M.N. Jeffries, 1939. The text reads: "Map displaying how the modern Jewish National Home, supposedly based on 'historical connection' with the ancient Jewish dowry of Palestine, has been established by the Zionists almost entirely in the rich plains. These never were in possession of the ancient Jews, who dwelt in the hills, where modern Zionist settlement is insignificant. Ancient Jewish holdings, at about their largest, are shown in Inset 1. Inset 2 shows the great area of Arab Galilee (unshaded) which the [British] Government in 1937 proposed to hand over to the Jewish State under the partition scheme.
